• Renovate your kitchen. Most homeowners will get around to renovating their kitchens at one point or another — so you might as well consider it during the winter. It may be something small like new countertops or new floors. It could be a complete renovation with new cabinets, new sinks and appliances. Evaluate your kitchen to see what makes most sense for you. Keep in mind, it’s a good idea to bring out an electrician or a plumber — especially when renovations get complex.
• Update your bathroom. Again, renovations can be as simple or as complex as you want them to be. Maybe it’s as easy as updating your hardware and sink fixtures. Or, maybe you need to move things around to create more space; in this case, definitely bring out a certified electrician and plumber when you start moving around sinks, showers, toilets and outlets.
• Update appliances throughout the home. Take a look to see what appliances need updated — maybe washer/dryer, refrigerators, sinks, ovens, etc. Many appliance stores will often offer great winter sales on these types of appliances. Again, reach out to a certified plumber or electrician to ensure that your appliance is properly installed.
